CZOP Urges Government to Secure Budget for Day Meal Programme Expansion

Kathmandu: The Children as Zone of Peace (CZOP)-National Campaign has called on the government to extend the 'Day Meal Programme' to cover up to grade six students in community schools.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, CZOP urged the government to allocate a budget for the Day Meal Programme, benefiting a total of 434,000 sixth-grade students attending community schools.
These sixth-grade students lost access to their day meals when the Ministry of Finance reduced the program's budget during the fiscal year 2079/080 BS. The CZOP emphasized the importance of allocating the necessary budget to provide nutrition to students and enhance their learning activities.
